A decal is typically a vinyl, fabric, paper, or metal substrate which has printed directly on it a picture or design which is then transferred to another surface, typically by heat or pressure. We dont know them all but we owe them all decal. A decal is applied to cars, glass decals are applied to windows in a home, decals are sometimes used to decorate statues and other collectibles. These decals come in many different styles and designs, they are often made from vinyl and come with instructions on how to apply them to your car or windshield, there are also decal kits available for those that may want to try their hand at decal application themselves. These kits usually contain everything you will need to apply the decal to your car or windshield, and can make a very nice gift idea. The most common types of decal to find on cars, windows, and even statues are self-adhesive stickers, these are used if you wish to peel the decal from one surface to stick it to another, this is called a peel and stick. Some self adhesive decals do require a bit of extra effort to apply and press them to the surface of the object in order to get it stuck, this is because if applying to a smooth surface without excess pressure then the decal will stick to it very easily, if applying to an uneven surface (such as a window) then the decal will often peel off in large pieces. We dont know them all but we owe them all decal. It is very difficult to remove a decal from its base layer, often the decal will form an air bubble around it before hardening, if left in water the decal will become very brittle and can break.
