The ancient Egyptians are said to make the most of sleds to build magnificent structures, such as carrying heavy obelisks on sandy surfaces. Snowmobile is also a valuable asset of the Vikings.
Until the late 19th century, a vozok (sled) was still a high-speed vehicle on the snow-covered plains of the European Empire of Russia and Siberia. Some vehicles of historical significance are still on display at the Oruzhejnaja Palata museum in Moscow, Russia.
